Despite Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho saying in public that he would love to coach Blues till 2010, speculations regarding his future at Stamford Bridge are not ending. Russian coach Guus Hiddink was linked with Chelsea as a replacement for the Portuguese but he has totally denied the reports by saying that he has no intentions of joining Chelsea at present and his main focus is on Russia’s performance at Euro 2008.
According to Hiddink,
It’s not an issue, I work with a lot of satisfaction where I am now. I still have a year on my contract with Russia. I hope we qualify for Euro 2008 and that I can go on with Russia. I am linked with the job because Roman Abramovich is the owner of Chelsea and he is Russian and I am the Russia coach. Let’s be frank and open, every now and then I do talk to him - but not about the Chelsea job.
Chelsea fans will hope that the statement by Hiddink clears all hearsay regarding Mourinho’s future because Chelsea can make history as they are on the brink of winning the English Premier League, UEFA Champions League and FA Cup this season .
